John J. "Jack" Connolly Jr. passed away at his home in Melrose, on Friday April 3, 2009. He was 50 years of age. Jack was born in Melrose to John J. Connolly Sr. & his late wife Catherine (Walsh) Connolly, raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1977. He lived in Wakefield for 20 years and the past 10 years in Melrose. Jack worked as an electrician for IBEW Local #103 Electrician's Union for 27 years. Mr. Connolly was a member of the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, the AA group at the 1st Baptist Church in Melrose and was a fire enthusiast with his own fire truck in the backyard. Loving fiancee of Joanne Jensen of Melrose. Former husband of Maureen (Greeley) Connolly of Wakefield. Devoted father of Shanna Connolly & her fiance Kevin Cawley of Worcester, John J. "Jake" Connolly III and Ryan P. Connolly both of Wakefield. Brother of Andrew Connolly of Reading, Anne Cusato & her husband Ralph of Billerica, Mary Volpe & her husband Richard of Stoneham, Kay Fernandez & her husband Gary of Melrose, Patricia Scarborough & her husband Chris of Andover, Christopher Connolly & his wife Michele of Saugus and the late David Connolly. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tues. April 7th, at 7:30AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives & friends respectively invited to attend. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-8PM. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation 1250 Fourth Street Santa Monica, CA 90401.
