Guestbook for Joseph W. Appleyard Showing 1 - 10 of 77 entries.

I was so sorry to hear about Joe. I was friends with Joe early on in college. In fact - we went together to get our ears pierced in Harvard Square during our freshman year. He will be missed!

My condolences to Joe's family. I knew him through my brother and we overlapped for 2 years at BC. Joe was one of the good guys. I last hung out with him at the Burren in Somerville in 2003. We talked about our shared love of the Northern Exposure and , I think, The Cure. Joe had great taste in music. I think I burned him a U2 live bootleg from 1981 and gave it to him around that time. I moved away for a while and I regret we never reconnected when I moved back.

May he rest in peace with the Lord for eternity.

See you on the other side, man.

To the Appleyard family,
I am very sorry to hear about Joe's passing. I knew Joe from Community Boating, where I sailed with him often. He was a wonderful person, and will be truly missed.

Dear Appleyard Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this hard time.
We have always appreciated the friendship of Steve and have enjoyed getting to know Joe, when he was JV, getting ready for Steve's wedding, and other visits. He was a gentle, kind man.

I am heartbroken to hear of Joe's early passing. Joe and I were JVC housemates and worked together in the L'Arche Community. He had a gentle spirit and was dearly loved by the core members in L'Arche, who he accepted unconditionally. Joe seemed to accept everyone without judgement and had the gift of bringing people together through his humor and openness. I am truly sorry for your loss. I hope you will be comforted by knowing how many lives Joe touched here in Tacoma through his kindness and generosity.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I new Joe from some of the different hikes and events with the AMC. I also went a couple times with him to the singing nights at Jacob Wirth's in Boston.

He was always a very kind person, and will be greatly missed.

Dear Appleyard Family,

I am very, very saddened to hear of the loss of Joe. I remember him very fondly from my days in the Appalachian Mountain Club. One particular time I will always remember was on a road trip to Quebec City where after several hours on the road up north, we finally saw the moose he was looking for. I'll always remember the grin on his face and the other good times. He will be very deeply missed. My condolences go out to all of you.

My condolences to the entire Appleyard family. I was on vacation when I heard the news.

I knew Joe for many years, as his uncle grew up right across the street from my father on Early Avenue in Medford. He also tell me how the Middlesex Fells hill that I grew up hiking to the top of, he knew of as 'Hershey Hill'.

I went to many events with him in the AMC, sailed with him on the Charles river many times, and was his housemate for two years in Somerville. Both of us enjoyed piano karoake night at Jacob Wirth's many times together.

He will be missed by all of his friends,
Alan
